I'm trying to establish a price range for a 2001 lacquer B&S tenor, no adjustable palm keys, no g# gizmo, mint condition, serial # 00588.
Anyone know what the new retail price was when they were making these?
Info appreciated!!

Mine cost $2800 CDN 5 years ago.

Les, you can et a Medusa from Stephan Boesken in Germany for even less than the above price.
The Medusa tenor is virtually identical to the 2001.

You state the Tenor is virtually identical.
Is the Alto also the same horn..

No, the alto changed significantly between the 2001 and Medusa models.

Where do you think the Chicago Jazz falls in the B&S range? I recently bought a black nickel/silver plate alto that seems pretty close to a Medusa I played recently.

Morry: You stated the 2001 Alto was different from the Medusa, but the Tenor wasn't.
Can you state the differences on the Alto.
Also, you can pick up a 2001 Tenor for 1800, and a 2001 Alto for 1700.
Just thought I would tell you what I have seen.

The differences in the alto were mainly in the body tube design.

B&S Saxes are now officially no more and will not be made again in the near future. I have placed a post about this.
