Media Player recordings?

I am trying to get a recording, just a few minutes worth, of my sax playing. I have Windows Media Player, and Real player, but I am not swift when it comes to software and this computer. I do have a mic plugged into the back of the computer. Is there some way to record thru that to save a sound file via Media Player or Real Player, the bad audio and fidelity notwithstanding? Or is there some other shareware I can download to do this with?

Do a search on this forum and you'll find a wealth of info on recording software.

WMP and RA are crap as far as recording from analog sources is concerned.
