I've always been kind of an ambivilent towards C. Hunter. I saw him live and though impressed by his "eight-string ability" I could never get the idea out of my head that it could be done better if he just had someone playing the bass and play the guitar by himself. I always find his bass lines kind of repetative.
That said, I do like his style, his choice of musical themes, and his choice in sidemen. I think his music sounds good, but I'm not a real fan. I do like what I've heard of this last album better than most of his other projects, but this probably has to do w/ the organist, and maybe Hunter's increased use of distortion.
This Skerik guy sounds pretty interesting on Bari, but I can barely tell when he's playing on the other available tracks from the web site. Is he playing his horn through a distortion pedal or something? I know sometimes he's playing through some strange effects, but other times I don't know if Hunter's playing guitar lines on two separate tracks, or if it's the horn player doing something w/ FX. This seems to be one of Hunter's more studio "produced/ mixed" albums.

mr, I think the organ you refer to is actually Hunter, the guitar side of his axe.

I thought Skerik was the keyboardist for Critters? (At least on "Amoeba") Maybe that's why he soesn't play sax on every track, because he's playing keyboards instead?
