Robert Luckey, PhD, the author of Saxophone Altissimo has a number of transcription books. His latest are some of the real jazz classics as played by a number of players.
I am not positive, don't have his most recent book here with me, but think he has Body & Soul as played by Coleman Hawkins in there.
I'll see if I can get Bob to respond to this thread.

The one I posted is indeed the famous solo. Maybe you're thinking of a different solo?

I heard back from my good friend Bob Luckey. He wrote:
"Hi Paul,
Coleman Hawkins' classic solo on Body and Soul is definitely
included in my newest book, Jazz Standards: Tenor Sax Artistry.
Notes, rhythms, and chords are all accurately notated. For comparison, I have also included Dexter Gordon's improvised solo on Body and Soul. If your colleague would like to buy a copy, he can either contact me directly, or he could purchase a copy from Jamey Aebersold or the Woodwind and the Brasswind.
Happy New Year!

This excellent book has a dozen great classics, and he has two different versions of each tune. So, the student of these great jazz artists can see how different players performed the same piece.

Paul Coats was here when I joined in 1998. He was here when I left in 2002 to work for the police department and the VA. When I came back in 2007 he was gone - don't know why, and I never asked. I think he has posted a cupola times in the last two years.
Knowledgeable resource for sax information.
