I've just completed phase 1 of an overhaul on my "new" Buescher TT bare-brass soprano (serial # 180xxx). I've spent about 20 hours so far just doing the cleaning and polishing but now its time for pads.
What type of pads should I use? From what I've read, flat metal resonators will work best, right? What thickness of pads does it need? The originals had disintegrated.
Thanks,
Jorns

When I restored my Buescher TT gold plated soprano, I used Ferree B472 pads. Mine has the number 114.xxx. When I bought mine, it had been a lamp for many years, mounted with a marble foot, and a lamp shed, most of the spings, pads, cork and felts were missing. It took many hours taking it back to playing condition, but was worth the effort.
Good luck with yours !![/img]
