First post in the Martin zone should go to a Martin methinks.
After all, it was only fitting that Bootman opened the Buescher threads.

Now we need a Conn-man....

I bought Martin HC siver gold wash bell. Serial # 86XXX. Just had it refurbed for 400.00. Clean new looking awesome sound and well made horn. I really like the projection and feel. Modern Key work on this horn...I like it better than Mark VI (I own one). Do yourself a favor and try the Martin horns. I have Beuscher, Selmer, and now Martin. I can send pics.I might sell for right price

I have had a Mark VI for 42 years but now own about 10 Martins and their stencils. Best kept secret, shhhh or the prices will rise.

You are right! I believe you helped me when I ordered this axe up. It has been worth the wait. Anyone in the jax, Fl area interested in Vintage saxes?

I hope all of you Martinized people out there don't spread the word aboutnhow great Martins are, before you know it there won't be any more around and at great prices.
Recently I bought a "The Martin Tenor" ca. 1951. Silver and gold bell inside. Man, this was the Holy Grail of horns !! I think the thing is possessed, the tone is so great, the response is like lightning. In an hour all fingerings were under control. Watch out for high D asit is easily preswsed when going for other notes, thereby letting out a horrible sound. But I have a Selmer serieiii, Selmer New Largfebsore, ca 1930 (2nd. best horn) and a vietnames Kohler, OK for money, but not for long pro playing. (everything bends so easy). But now I only play the "Martin". Any other good stories out there let me know.. Bruce Brennan, NY.

As good as the altos are, the Tenors and Baris are even better!
sopranos are as tight as you will find, very centered.
