This is a tune by Tina Brooks. It's not in any fake book that I'm aware of but I'd like to get the head for it.
Does anyone know where I can find the head? I'd take it in BIAB format also if available but that's not overly important 'cause I can do that myself.
Thanks
Ralph
How long would it take you to transcribe it from the recording? Why not have a go?
Or you could send me an mp3 of the head if you wanted, and I'd do it for you if I have a spare moment.

I'm actually in the process of transcribing it but I'm veeeeeerrrrrrrrryyyyyy sssssssssslllllllloooooooowwwwwww. :) and this still won't tell me what the chords are - at least my ears can't pick out most of the 'real' chords.
It's on the 'Jackie's Bag' recording by Jackie McLean. And while I'm at it, I'd love to have the head for Medina, also by Tina Brooks and on the same recording. That's my next transcription project.
Anyway, just looking for the easy route!
Thanks,
Ralph
Good luck. If you want any help and are able to make an mp3, send it over -- just click the email button below.
But actually I just discovered THERE IS a published chart available -- go to http://www.secondfloormusic.com/detail.cfm?ID=140 and prepare to spend 25 US dollars.
Though I still think you should do it yourself first.

Thanks for that link, amg. Totally forgot to even check if there was a chart of the tune. I'll finish up my personal transcription but the chart is likely a good arrangement to use with my quintet.
Now, on to transcribing Medina. :)
It's quite amazing actually that the few tunes that I am aware of that were written by Tina Brooks are really good. Seems that he was great at writing very nice stuff.
