I´m looking for infos about the Vito c-melodys. Where have they been produced, straight or curved neck? Any special features. How did the look like, any pics? Which finishes? How where they?
There is no info i could find in the web, except that only a few of them have been sold.

Being that the Vito name did not appear until the late 40s, I doubt that any exist but since you have some info that they do, my guess would be that Noblet or one of the other Leblanc related companies still built them at that time. The only straight neck C Melodies I know of were Conn and I think the P-A they made used the curved neck.

@ Bruce,
The must have been produced in the 60th. Vito wanted to bring them back on market, but only 20 or so have been sold. I know Steve Goodson used to own one of them. What i have found out until now, is that the have a straight neck, modern keywork and where build in France. The Leblancs that where build in France are suppose to be realy good. So i guess the C-Mel is a great horn.
I even heard that the "Baker Street" solo has been played on a Vito C-Melody. Well, now i know, why my Baker Street solo doesn´t sound that good :D :D

WOW, that's great to know. Over here, we don't get all of the good stuff you have in Europe, so I guess the French are hiding stuff from us! When I was in Germany in the 60s, I remember the Dusseldorf Selmers under the name "Major". I had a Hohner Alto, Keilwerth Tenor and Kohlert Soprano when I played in Heidelberg.
