Rev.D = Gold Medal

So is the Rev.D the saxophone that won the Gold Medal? So are the Rev.D and the Gold Medal basically the same sax?

My early GM tenor was a little bit bigger than my Rev.D. Its neck didn´t fit into the Rev.D. Gold Medal was more resonant and easier to blow, Rev.D has more focused and more flexible sound.

Couple of other notes: necks are interchangeable on the two tenors but at the mouthpiece end the GM has a smaller diam, bell on the gold medal is NOT the same as the bell on the rev D, the GM has a 1/4" larger diam on the flare, and the bottom bow looks to be slightly different too-not sure how/where to measure.

One of these days I'll get a decent digital camera and send some pics.
