Hello all!

I recently aquired an older sax on ebay. The only markings on it are:
'Made in Italy' on the back and on the front it says DiLeo. It has some ornate engraving on the front, and to be honest it surprised me with how well it played. Also it is pretty heavy. I figured for 200 bucks, it would be fun to play around with. Curiosity has the better of me on the origins of this and I really don't know how to go about finding out who / what / where / when and why of this horn. The guy I bought it from had no history on it.
Thanks in advance

Mark

I ended up selling it on E-Bay - so now it is someone elses mystery. I hope it suits them well for years......

Im stuck with the same mistery at the moment... :)
..but it isnt an alto. A tenor..must be about 40 years old or so..but I dont have any further info on its history. (except its brand and serial number)
Anyways..
it shall be solved at some point!

Most Vintage Italian saxes were made by Borgani and Grassi but a lot of them were stenciled by Keilwerth in the early postwar years.

Hope this gives you some leads

Wow - old post!! Yeah, this was a tenor as well. I will look for the old pics of it and post them here if I can find them.
