I've been working on a new composistion that I'm using as a project for school. I need to present it, originally I was going to use some musicians but I need to do it computerized now.

So my question : When I save my finale file as a midi then play it in another program the tempos get screwed up but, only in one part is it really major. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you guys get around it?

Thanks for any help you can offer

when the box pops up after you click save, make sure that 'save tempo changes' is checked

Which Finale are you using?... The only choices I get while saving as a MIDI are format 0 -all instruments on one track, format 1- all instruments on different tracks and tempo map

The check boxs are "save bookmarks are markers" and "don't show this during file save as"

I can present this in any format MIDI is just the easiest for me.

Thanks for the suggestion

Don't worry about it. I went through and made sure the tempos were set, they weren't set. So I set them but still when I take the midi file into Cakewalk the tempos get messed up. Is there a way to set tempos in 2003 aside from the tempo tool?

Thanks again for your suggestions

wow this is strange..one time that happened to me, i resaved as a midi file and it worked..but then again i tweaked some stuff i think.
try the "create tempo marking" in the plug-ins menu, or creating a tempo marking in the expression tool, making sure that under playback options that it says tempo..other than that, try lookin in the manual or somethin. good luck
