Hate to start another topic, but I didn't think this fit with any of the other cannonball mouthpiece discussions..
My situation is that I got myself a new CB alto a few months ago, and have become increasingly more displeased with the Classical C* mouthpiece (the stock one).
I've been having problems with the response, especially with octave key D - G (sorry! I forget my theory class and what their "numbers" are). At first I dismissed it as just me and I need to work on it, but have realized that's not true (for the most part  ).
I've put an old, beat up, abused, etc Selmer S80 C* (I'm pretty sure that's what it is... everything's faded  .. it came with my YAS21 when I was a beginner). It sounded nice, but thinner (I'm assuming because of it's condition) and responded really nice with this mouthpiece, but I've used this piece for marching the past 3 years and am using it currently for marching, and I would like to have a new piece to use with my cannonball.
anyway..
From previous posts I've seen that Morgans work good for classical on a Cannonball. Anyone using something different? As I'm a near broke college kid with little available transportation, I'm planning on taking advantage of WWBWs return policy and testing several pieces at the same time. I was thinking, in addition to a Morgan, of trying the Selmer Soloist and hopefully anything else someone can suggest.
What mouthpiece are you guys using for your alto? I'm more interested in for classical settings, but I'd be curious to know in general.
Thanks in advance!
