 :?: I also have had a deposit with Goodson for a Tenor for QUITE some time. Last January I spoke with him at the IAJE conference in NYC. He said delivery was imminent. How does one get ahold of him? He won't answer E-mails, phonecalls, and he has no apparent address. How did some of you get your deposit back, etc.? [/i][/b]

Check his web site. He posted a message saying that power was likely to be a problem in New Orleans following the hurricane.

I believe that SGs forum contains a message suggesting that he and Unison are not seeing eye-to-eye, and that he will not be doing any business with them until they settle whatever differences they have. Indeed, if you go to the "Saxgourmet" site, there is NO mention of Unison. Further, there is NO mention of the SG models anywhere on the Unison site.
Not to speculate, but things don't look good for the future of the SG Unison.

I'm shocked! Shocked, I say!
Sorry Harri, Pete, etc. Couldn't resist.
Morry - another infamous voice from the past.."At long last, sir. At long last have you no shame?!"
(I used to live on the Mississippi coast and I can tell you those nine-month-long hurricanes can be a bit*h!)

I think that New Orleans got it pretty easy, so all power should be up and he should be good to go.
The Gulf Shores area where I grew up and where the bulk of my family lives got beat up pretty bad though. All of my family now has power (those that still have homes that is) -- so Steve should be back to work.

His address, according to the store policies area in the online store section of his website, is:
Steve Goodson Woodwinds, LLC
4314 S. Liberty Street
New Orleans, LA 70115
(504) 895-6859
If you paid your deposit with a credit card, you may want to contact them about having the charges reversed, although it may be well past any time period they allow for disputed charges. If all else fails, send an e-mail and a snail mail (certified, signature required) notifying them (Steve Goodson Woodwinds, LLC) of your intent to pursue legal remedies in a specified time period (say, 30 days) if you don't get a response to your communication. Then, file against them in the appropriate local court (small claims court in New Orleans?) to get your deposit returned, plus legal fees -if any.
Hope you are able to work things out. Maybe he has something else in stock of interest to you, would apply your deposit as payment, and all parties will be happy  . Boy, is that a rare moment of optimism from me?

I HATE it when that happens - When people treat their customers like that they deserve one thing - to go out of business. Don't want to rub salt in the wound but personally, if I'm spending that much on a new horn its Big Four all the way. I dont want to trust my hard earned sterling on anything thats not time-served and trusted.
