If it's a Coltrane solo, Andrew White (Washington, DC) has already done it.

DO IT YOURSELF!
save money, develop your ear, learn the solo, analyze the solo, become a better muscian all around......OR...have someone do it for you and get nothing out of it

I don't think one gets NOTHING out of checking out a pre-done transcription. You at least get to see what a far more experienced player's lines are all about if you haven't yet reached the point to do it yourself. Still, I'd have to agree that unless you're doing something along the lines of "Giant Steps" or more difficult, it's best to do it yourself and the benefits are huge. At least make sure there isn't already a transcription available of the solo in question. And if you don't mind waiting a while, I can transcribe just about anything...

Where can you get these from? I did a search but wasn't able to find any.
OK, found it, Andrew's Music, 4830 South Dakota Ave.N.E. Washington DC 20017, (202)526-3666. Looks like he's not on the web but you can send $4 or so for his catalog.
