Given any two Link STM type of mouthpieces what makes one have significantly more tonal core? For instance, I have a JJ ESP, NY Link and Super Gonz I. The Link and the SGI are similar except the SGI is louder and has less tonal core. The ESP has much more tonal core than either the Link or the SGI.

I hope that I'm not confusing darkness with tonal core. I believe (perhaps incorrectly) that a mouthpiece can produce rich lows, solid mids and well-defined highs with clarity at any volume.

So, my question is what factors - mpc body weight, material, tip opening, tip rail, side rails, table, chamber size, chamber shape, baffle size, baffle placement, beak angle, length of facing curve - have the most impact on tonal core?
