Great gugly-mugly! An absolute work of art!
Every time I see your work, I want to get my old beat up (looking) Conn bari silver plated and have you turn it into an 'Artist Model'. Guess I better buy a lottery ticket on the way home so I can afford the re-plate! I don't know where you are more skilled, in your playing or your engraving?
Wow. Very nice Jason!!

There probably are several players with at least equal talent, but only one, maybe two, in the world who come close to his musical instrument engraving artistic flair and incomparable skills. I'll let my DuMars-engraved Kohlert soprano (photo below) do the talking:

you guys are going to give me a big ol' head!
Thanks for all of the kind words! Rob, your soprano is still in my top 3 favorite things I have ever done. I always appreciate the consistent support you give my work -- it means a lot.

How much does that change to tone, intonation and consistancy?

All of the above improved significantly overnight. Suddenly, the community concert band director began finding soprano parts for me to play, even solos, whereas before he never noticed me. I think it was the engraving on the bell keys that finally got to him. Or, it might have been the delicate scroll work on the lyre screw head. Now, everytime I complete one of those solos the sax section stand as one, turn in my direction and bow reverently in awe, then the rest of the 90-piece organization bursts out in spontaneous cheers and applause.
I owe it all to Master DuMars. There's no way I'm going to pick up his work of art, that inspires a deep passion for top level performance, and not play at a level equal to its majesty. It's the least I can do to show my appreciation for the mind-boggling beauty Jason added to my formerly plain (like a new canvas to a painter) soprano I entrusted to his skillful hands, and he did not disappoint, as you can see.
Oh, you mean does it change any of those pereformance features physically? None that I've experienced.

Excellent work, Jason! When I first visited your site, I was floored by your engraving, and it took me a long time to convince myself that you did that by hand. It amazes me to this day. :notworth: :notworth::notworth::notworth::notworth:
