I was reading on Antigua's website an annoucement about a new 'Power Bell' sax that was coming out. Anybody have any news on this? I understand they will only be available in alto and tenor. Since I am considering an A-W tenor, if the power bell is similar to cannonballs Big Bell it might be worth waiting for. Anybody have any additional information? Mr. Kessler???????

OK,

I can post more now. Sorry for the earlier short reply. We are in the middle of our busy season with back to school and all. (all this with working on 3-4 hours of sleep a night thanks to my newborn! AHHH!!!!)

The Power Bell horns are good. In my honest opinion, they do not really play much different then their 520 or 550 models. They are simply made up to look much better.

The only reason why I am stocking them now is because I am either out or running short on the black 520 & 550 models that I had at a GREAT price. So I worked out some good pricing with the Power Bell horns and they are absolutely Geourgeous! <sp>

So I now stock them because of this. They play very well and are right on par with the Cannonball horns (in my opinion). They do a real nice engraving job and are NOT doing that tacky lazer engraving combined with real engraving. They are actaully engraved all over.

Good horns.

Dave,

How would you say your Kessler Big Bells compare to these new Antigua tenors?

Yes, I would also want your opinion onto how the Antigua compares to your large bell pro model.

Sorry, forgot to come back and post on this. Thats what a 2yr old, 2 month old and a VERY busy store will do to ya! :)

they compare favorably. They are very similar horns (not the same horn). The nice thing about the Antigua is the cosmetics and the parts support no matter where you are. Antigua has done a much better job of keeping an in depth supply of parts and making them available.
