Whew! That was a chore.

When we moved to the new Lunarpages Forum, I re-ordered the Topic Requests area: I moved all "Suggestions" to the "Suggestion Box" area, I bumped all the old topic requests that weren't polls and changed those into polls, I deleted the topic requests that had polls with considerably more "no" than "yes" votes and I created topics for the requests that had polls with considerably more "yes" than "no" votes.

IN THE FUTURE, please make your Topic Request HERE and make it a poll with the question of "Needed?" and options of "yes" or "no".

In addition, your post's title should have the name of the topic you want to create in it.

We generally like to see at least 10 more positive votes than negative ones after at least a week before we create a topic.

SUBCATEGORIES and SUBFORUMS

It is now possible to add a SUBCATEGORY or SUBFORUM to an existing area. An example would be creating a new area under the Selmer topic in Saxophone Makes and Models called "Mark VI". I could then even make further subcategories and subforums under this. So a full example could be:

(Forum Index) > Saxophone Makes and Models > N-Z > Selmer > Mark VI > Low A Alto > Finishes > Gold Plate > (User Thread)

You can request subcategories and subforums here, in the form of, "Should we add a Mark VI category to the Selmer area?" Remember to make the request a poll and include the URL, like http://www.saxontheweb.net/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=128.

What's the difference between a category and a forum? A category's just a container and it contains forums. You can't post in a category, you can post in a forum. You can also say a forum's a topic.
