Starting up this topic again since it didn't get transfered.

Quick review - I have done a recording of myself in Adobe Audition and initially had problems getting the file [a .wav file] into my CD burning programs. When imported into these programs the file played at a fast speed. With the help from the previous forum, I have fixed this so I now am able to import the wav file and get it to play at normal speed.

So, my next problem is to get the CD burned. I'm no computer geek and I really wish that programs worked together better but I worked on this for some hours yesterday and couldn't figure out what is wrong.

I am using two burning programs - Pinnacle Clean and Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4. I have used both of these programs to do other CD projects - duping CDs and transferring LPs to CD without problem. This is the first time I've tried burning something that I have recorded 'live'.

I have my recorded files transfered into and working in both of these programs - I can get the file to play at normal speed. However, when I burn a CD, the CD plays at the fast speed.

Anyone familiar with either of these programs? Any ideas how I can get a CD burned? I am trying to get the CD in order to use it in my marketing package.

Thanks
Ralph

Ralph,

make sure your wav files at 16 bit, 44.1kHz (CD standard). make sure you are "making a music CD" (at least in Roxio)

Thanks Bill,
I've gone back to all the programs where I can find settings and it all looks ok. Adobe Audition and my Maudio 1010 have these settings. So the .wav files should be ok going into the burning software.

I still can't figure out why I can hear the files properly when directly played from the burning programs - all of them - but when burned to a CD, the CD plays the tunes fast. There must be something that I am missing perhaps between the burning programs and the CD writer????

I've downloaded .wav and .mp3 files as well as copied and burned CDs and LPs using these burning programs before and everything looks the same in this process. Somehow, these recorded files won't burn to a CD [didn't think my playing was that bad!]. Man I HATE software.

Ralph, make sure you have the latest updates on the s/w. I had trouble burning some things until I got an update of one of my burning programs.

The 2x playback thing is very weird. RECHECK that you're recording Stereo 16 bit files at a 44.1k sampling rate.

Thanks for your help guys. How's things in TO, Merlin? A final word on this.

I've now got things working!!!

I truly thought that I had all settings done correctly on the recording software but I went back and checked, tested, reset, tested and reset I don't know how many times today. There are an amazing number of places that settings can be changed in the various software programs that I'm using. I had to convert some files back and forth between 16 and 32 bit. Do some additional tweaking of files before the burning software would recognize the files and........ finally burned a CD.

In the end I'm not sure what I was doing initially since I made so many changes before things worked but I'm sure as h... much more familiar with the software now.

Like I said before... I hate software.

But, again, thanks for the help.
