I know he just sent out the announcement via e-mail recently, but I'm interested if anyone has tried it yet. It sounds like another great mouthpiece to me.

I have a 6M and a 7M headed my way....they left NY on Thursday.
Plus a HR tenor.
Should have them Monday or Tuesday.

Did you receive the mouthpieces? How did they play?

Just thought since the guy who said he was having them come never replied: I ordered one today (a hard rubber 6, also a .74 ESP and a .78 ESP). All of them are alto. I did this today (Monday August 9th) as I'm in Tokyo right now, and it's Monday here. I'll ACTUALLY let you know how the hard rubber plays, and probably how the ESP's play as well. I'm thinking of getting either the hard rubber, or ESP, a pillinger bronizite, or hr Pillinger to replace my Jody Jazz (blue one). I'll let you all know.

These are good mpcs, tested a ^m And a &m for alto which arrived last week. They are more resistant than the Blue JJ mpcs and the sound is not quite as loud. Oaverall if you want a Meyer type of sound these are better than the current series of Meyers I have tried> If you want centre and lots of power go the Blue model, if you wish to have a more spread tone and not as loud then go for the HR.
Great mpcs and well worth checking them out for yourself.

Ok.. say it.. this woman is slow! :(
Tried both the 6 and the 7m. Very warm, fantastic, nostalgic sound. Reminded me of a Meyer but with something more... could it be Jody's special touch?
imho... This is a good piece for mainstream and-or cool jazz.
My ESP is still my preference as it is easier for me to play (and blow).
I'll be loaning these out to other players... a pro and a hobby player who play have totally different styles!
will add their options later!

Do you think this piece could be easily manipulated for a west-coast style sound? ala Paul Desmond? Itchin' to get my hands on one if so...

with the right setup... reed and lig.. and sax..
Yes, you will have a "Great Indian Summer"
but then I have to add a disclaimer....
performance may vary so
as
"These Foolish Things"
such as mouthpieces, have their
"Nuances!"

I bought and then quickly sold a JJ blue sapphire mouthpiece right here on saxontheweb. I like the piece with the baffle in but not with the baffle out. I really didn't get the ease of top-tones that I wanted and found the baffle to be very gimmicky.
Without the baffle I had a really dark sound, dark for me anyway. Some guys (and girls!) love it.
Today I got a new Vandoren Jumbo Jazz A45 and a Vandoren Optimum ligature to slap on my SA80. It's like a laser beam of sound. About as bright as my Dukoff but more controllabel and versatile.
I'm not a big JJ fan but I'll hang sith this Jumbo Jazz piece for a while.
rodelliot, Jody has a new hard rubber mpc out with a Meyer/HR Link sound. This is different from the JJ's he's had on the martket for some time (like your blue mpc).
As a general comment on the JJ's I don't find the spoilers gimmiky at all for one simple reason, the do work for me and they make a difference in the sound as well as making the higher notes somewhat easier to play.

Sorry. I don't mean gimmicky in a bad way. For me, I only liked the piece with the spoiler in, so it made more sense to get a piece that had a fixed baffle the way I like it. The Jumbo Jazz did that.
No offense, I do think the JJ is a good piece. Just not for me.
