I've been playing Fibracell 3-1/2 tenor sax reeds for some time now. Recently I ordered 4 new reeds and noticed they are now labeled "Premium" with a red label. Well...these reeds seem different to me, a little harder then I remember the new black label Fibracells to be. However it's really hard for me to tell, as it may be that the reeds I've been playing might have gotten softer over time, and I just can't tell. has anyone noticed a difference in the strength of the new Fibracells, or is it just me?

Fibracell has changed the ratings on thier reeds. Instead of soft, medium-soft, medium etc. they now use a number system.

I used med-soft and I tried 2 and 2.5 to find what fit my needs.
2 seemed a liitle soft and 2.5 was slightly stiffer, I chose the latter.

EDIT - I just re-read your post and realized that you already know of the numbering system. Man, I have got to get some caffine in me before I start to think.
