Wooden Mouthpieces playing Classical

I know they can get moody and may require extra care, but does anyone recommend playing wood mouthpieces for classical music?

I believe that for a time Timothy McAllister was playing a wood Piece of some sort. A friend of mine also played a wood one (that McAllister gave to him actually) for a little while.
