THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR CHATTER AND INTEREST IN THE BBQ! I have quite a number of blanks that are at the ready stage for me to go to Louisiana and play them in. I will play each mouthpiece sold until it is absolutely correct for what I want or else it won't be put out for sale.
For the past month I have been quite ill with the pneumonia and have been able to follow up on the BBQ finish.
I will have something in the near future on my site announcing the BBQ's availability.
IT WON'T BE LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Again thank all of you for your comments and suggestions. I have used some of them too. I believe that I will have the best Rock and Roll style mouthpiece out there when they become available or else I would not have gone through all of these months of experimentation on them.
I just hope that you players find tome to be so. 95% of those that tested the prototypes did.

Regards,
CHARLIE A.

Charlie - I've been holding off buying any other tenor mpcs until your BBQ is ready. Good luck and it's good to hear you're feeling better!

We haven't heard anything from Charlie for about 6 months now regarding the BBQ. (Or maybe I missed it). The suspense is killing me after the big buildup and rave reviews. Anyone have any news?

Could it be that there's just nothing new to be done to a mouthpiece?

I got an email from Charlie at the end of October about the BBQ. He is working on them. At the time a number of them had just gone out for plating and stamping.

He said that there would be a note up on his site as soon as they're available.

Hopefully Charlie will chime in here with a updated, update.

I can't decide whether to order the Hickory Smoke version or the Honey Money  version! Which one has the bigger baffle again?

Hi!

Just a quick note to let you know that the BBQ project, even though moving slowly, is still on track.
I have a number of pieces that are ready to go to the platers next week. The turn around time at the platers is not very long so am shooting for a new years or before date to put the package all together and have them available for you the players that want one.
Sorry for the delay but I have had some health problems that slowed me and the project down.
Hopefully we are both on track now. As soon as I launch the tenor mouthpieces I will start on the Alto mouthpieces which will be identical in design to the tenor.
I want to thank you that have written to me at charliea@watervalley.net inquiring about the progress of the mouthpieces and those thqt have shown interest in them.
Check my www.gigdust.com site for further information on the availability and pricing. This information will be placed on there soon.
Regards and thank you,

Charlie A.[/b]

I have 35 BBQ mouthpieces that should arrive at my place today all polished, faced, roll stamped and ready to go to the gold platers.
I should have them back in hand within a week ready for the market. I have more being finished up at the present which will give me about 60 pieces for a start.
These pieces will run from .085 to .135. To be specific I will have 1-.085, 3-.090, 3-.095, 5-.100, 4-.104, 1- .107, 4- .110, 6- .115, 2- .120, 5- .125, 1- .135.
This should be a good cross section of openings to choose from. These pieces hopefully will be priced and available by the first of the year. As I have stated before, these pieces have so much handwork in them that it is a lengthy process to produce them but they are excellent pieces when finished.
Hopefully if the response is good I will be able to get them out in a more timely fashion. I also want to add the Alto piece next and then the soprano and bari.
I appreciate your patience in all of this but it has been a slow meticulous process that I believe will be worth the wait.
Regards,
Charlie A.

Thanks :)

It was a great pleasure for me to do this artwork for Charlie and I must say (don't want to take all the credits for myself) the concept was Charlie's idea - What you see there is what Charlie had in mind - All I did was to try to illustrate his idea as best as I can.

Overall this was a really fun project to work on and Charlie is such a great guy to be working with... I wish it would be always like this 8-)

Hey Charlie, did you received the original sketches I sent you?
If not, email me, I'm gonna send you a copy of the original that I made.

Hi!

I most certainly did receive the sketches and they were terrific! I apologize but I thought that I had e mailed you with my regards and thanks. I have been going to those doggone doctors and hospitals so much here of late that I really don't know which end is up!
But I do want to thank you very much for these and I am going to have them framed for they are so good.
You have been a great help and inspiration to me.
The first batch of pieces is at the platers now so am awaiting their arrival next week then pictures and placement on site AND WHEW !!! The first phase is over.
Still do not know what they have cost me but Runyon, who did the finishing for me, is supposed to give me their charges soon and then I will know and will price them accordingly. I wish to keep them in an affordable price range but being all hand crafted and custom made there is a lot of man hours in each individual mouthpiece so I have to pay for all of that to achieve the mouthpiece that I personally wanted to turn out.
It has been an experience for sure and thanks to kind folks such as you it has finally become reality in that these pieces will very soon be out there.
Take care and quit sending those COLD ARCTIC BLASTS into the deep south!
Regards,
Charlie A.

It's ok Charlie. I was aware of that ,and so I figgured that you probably forgot to tell me. It's no big deal.

Glad to hear from you and glad that all is going well with the BBQ.

Take care 8-)
