:D Checked him out with Bela Fleck the other nite-Bob Mintzer just happened to come by and join them at SUNY Purchase.The guy is great,also experiments with various effects and it's nice to see someone pick up a tenor and an alto and play them at the same time!Way to go Jeff!

Yes...Jeff Coffin is pretty badass. I love his playing...especially his dual horn playing. You should get their DVD ... Bela Fleck and the Flecktones Live at the Quick. Great DVD. Victor Wooten (bassist) ceases to amaze me...he's one of my fave bassists, next to Patitucci...and Future Man (what a wacky name! he's vic's brother i believe) on that Drum Axe...wow...I wanna learn how to make my own!

Yeah, Jeffs a monster, I hate having to compete with him in the same town. Luckily, he does his work on the Jazz side, and I do mine on the contemporary side.

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones Live at the Quick is a killer DVD! You gotta' love the jazz bassoon and the dude that sings three notes at once! And, of course, Coffin is a great player too.
