Swapping reeds b/t horns

I've sometimes used different reeds on different horns, such as a tenor reed on alto, tenor reed on bari, soprano sax reed on clarinet, etc. Sometimes the results are pretty interesting, especially when using sax reeds on clarinet as there is such a variety of cuts. Anyone else tried this

Also, what exactly is the size difference between all of these? I'm sure that with the large selection of brands they aren't all "identical" but just give a general idea. This way we can all get more ideas for swapping around.

I've shown up at a gig and found that I've no reeds, no ligatures and only one mouthpiece in my tenor case (the sax was there- thak goodness). I had to borrow a bari reed and use a rubber band for a ligature.

It sounded alright, but the darn rubber band wouldn't hold the reed properly, it kept moving about and I had to use my lips to hold it in place.
