OK i need to order my reeds very soon so plz just drop a post in. I am currently on Vandoren(blue box) #3 reeds. I know that the strenght chart on the legere website says 2 1/2 would be equivlent, but i have read that some people say that you should go up in strength and some should go down in strength. Plz tell ur advice so i can figure out my reed problem. Thanks.[/i][/b]

It depends alot on the mouthpiece. You could just order 2.25, 2.5, and 2.75, then just return or exchange the 2 that don't work for you. Or if the 2.5 works best, then keep all three since you might like to have the option of going harder or softer depending on the situation. Just keep in mind legere takes off a few dollars per reed if you choose to get a refund or exchange, and there's a limit of two reeds that legere will refund. That's why I suggested getting 3.
I use Alexander Classique 3's and have found Legere 2.50 to be very similar in strength.

I posted a reply in the classical saxophone section.
In short, your best and most accurate bet would be to order a bunch of different strengths, keep the ones you are comfortable with, and return the rest for refund. Many reed sources (ProWinds, Woodwind and Brasswind possibly) accept returns of Legere reeds, with a tryout policy similar to that of mouthpieces. ASK BEFORE YOU ORDER.

Legere have a reed exchange policy where, if you are unsatisfied with the strength you can swap it for another strength within a month of purchase, though I would say go for the 2.75 first (Legere go up in quarter strengths)
