Nickel or Silver ???

Hi,

I heard there was two sorts of plating for a Mark VI : Silver or Nickel.
What exactly is the difference (except the metal 8-)) ?
How to recognize both ?

Silver is white-ish looking and nickel is darker and sippery. Nickel looks like a car bumper (when they were metal!).
