Hi all, just wanted to pop up and say hello. I'm a new player and just picked up a Grassi Tenor about 4 hours ago! Thought I'd join the site as there seems to be a lot of information (Even if it's a bit of a mystery, it's still better than NO information!) about the Grassi's. I'm not sure exactly what mine is but it doesn't matter, it sounds GREAT to me and I'm very pleased with it. I used the site to research them a bit before hand and one popped up locally so I picked it up today on a bit of a whim. It's my first horn. I've been renting a YTS-23 for a few months (It's been very good to me!) but I thought I'd go for something a little bit different. . and in my price range.

The one I picked up today has been hibernating for about 15 years, it has the original green pads and the "Jade rollers" The serial number range is 21xxx I played it top to bottom with no apparent issues. Even sitting in a closet for 15 years hasn't seemed to hurt it much. The case is original and solid. It came with a couple of older mouthpieces but I haven't had a chance to try them out yet. I'll get it checked out though, and then look forward to playing the hell out of it. :D

I'll use the forum to research it a bit more...

Cheers!!

Thanks for the welcome wagon! This site is great (Even planning on buying some swag from the SOTW store to support it!) I'll definitely get some pics up... It's currently in shop for a re-pad so I'll get some together when it comes back. I suppose I should have taken some pictures of the original green pads before taking it in... Oops. Oh well, I'll just Photoshop the new pads green in the upcoming pictures and then we'll all be happy! ;)
