Hi, I got a Vito tenor from my uncle. He says my grandfather got it for him at a garage sale for pretty cheap in the 80s. I have no info on it, except that it says MADE IN FRANCE on the lower part of the bell. Anyone have any info on it?

Hi NEO25, french vito are very respected horns and great value for the money. For further information post some pics and/or detailed information about the sax. the serial number will be useful too.

The fact that it says "Made in France" is already a good sign. Post some pictures, that would help.

I would guess it's a Beaugnier Vito. If so, mine is one of the best tenors I've played, and there have been many. I frequently get compliments for the tone.

I'm looking at purchasing a Beaugnier made Vito France tenor sax. It's one of their last models 17,9xx. I was wondering if anyone knows a repairman who has experience with these horns and knows how to set them up properly? I'm sure Randy Jones at Tenor Madness can do it, but his prices are really high for a rebuild and I'd like to keep it to about $700.00 if possible. Randy's still about $250.00 over that. I just wondered if anyone with a Beaugnier horn has found somebody who has become well acquainted with these horns. Thanks for any input or direction.

I recommend Kim Slava, aka Doctor Sax, in Madison, WI. Check out his website at doctorsax.biz (http://doctorsax.biz) and contact him that way, if interested.

If says "Made in France" and the SN number is 22540, is one of the latest Vito tenor made by Beaugnier.

Have right hand bellkeys?

Seconded. Kim loves these Vitos, and his work is every bit as good as the "big name" techs around here.

I had him rebuild my SML tenor this summer, and I couldn't be any happier with how it turned out.
