A french guy sells two Holton Bariton Saxes on eBay France.

One is a laquered 274, S/N 462075, seems to be built in the late sixties.

The other ist a 270 in silver finish, S/N 130692, seems to be built in the late thirties.

Does anybody can tell me more about Holton vintage baritones, i.e. sound, intonation.

Are they as good as horns built by the American Big Four (Conn, Martin, King, Buescher).

Are these Holtons professional horns?

Mike

Mike,
Do you have a link to those saxes? My French ebay navigation skills aren't so good.:)

Those are Holton's Professional horns (vice the "Collegiate" student line). The 274 has by far the latest serial number I've ever seen on a non-Collegiate model.
