I have a Nice Dolnet sax I bought a couple of years back for peanuts, It has now been through the workshop and plays really well with a big fat tone.
I have one question - has anyone ever seen one before with a fourth left hand high F# palm key?
It looks totally original.
I will try and post some pictures in the next few days or so.

Yes, I have seen a Paul Beuscher (Dolnet stencil) gold lacquer soprano with the same palm keys. It is very strange to see it, but exists.

Hohner Presidents, made by Max Keilwerth in the '60's, also have those...I have yet to even use it :TGNCHK: But there it is, indeed.
Griff, do you know what model Dolnet it is ????

I'm not sure,, the serial number ends in a C its definately not a C melody though. It has the diamond shaped bell to body brace - I think it could possibly be a Bel Aire but I'll post some pics and do some investigatin'

I think that if it has a F# it could be a Royal Jazz (which has a diamond shaped bell to body brace and the same key guards as the Bel Air) the significance of the letters in general in the dolnets serial numbers (and in particular of the C letter) has been discussed many times without any real conclusion, there's never been, to my knowledge, any report of a dolnet C melody though.
