In David Sanborn's album Upfront, he has a song called Bang Bang. He goes into his solo stuff with a trill, a run, and then another trill. After another side-stepping lick, he goes to an altissimo A# and fools around up there for a while. He makes this A# sound almost like static (but it sounds really good), that's the best way I know how to describe it. What is this and how is it done? I really want to add this lick in on a jazz chart my high school group is playing and I'm curious as to how it's done.
