Are you looking for a school upstate or downstate? If your willing to go to Rochester, Eastman has an excellent MM in Jazz Performance. Another school that has a good reputation is Manhattan School of music.

i dont really mind. hehehe. thanks for the suggestions. but i heard manhattan school of music is very difficult to get into. i'm sax player from Malaysia, so i'm sure theres so many other better players than i am... :)
shazzo,
There are a number of grad programs in NY - run a search on Google, and you'll find a bunch of information. NYU, City College, Manhattan School of Music, Suny Purchase, Eastman - you need to figure out if you want to be in NYC while you're in grad school. There are other programs near NYC that are just as good, if not better - William Paterson, Rutgers - both are in NJ. There are plenty of grad programs in Jazz Studies all over the US, but you need to really figure out where you want to be when you're done with school. If you want to play in the NYC scene, then going to school in the city would be a great start (make contacts, meet players, etc).
Hope that helps...
