Looking for other people's thoughts. Just bought a new 62 (2) from Pro-winds in Indiana. I tried the cannonball mad meg and the new Z and this 62 horn was great. Cost was $1795 out the door. I've heard some problems with the neck and tuning but have not had this problem. Currently playing with a Meyer 6M and Van-doren 2.5 reeds, rovner Dark ligature. I have a slight squeek when attacking upper D. Now the Rovner does not fit the Meyer great. It is too big and even cranked right down the fit is not the best. Any thoughts on mouthpieces, ligs or other ways I can get rid of this squeek and set ups to get the best possible sound from new Tenor. I have a Bundy 2 Alto student horn with the same set up and no squeek but the rovner fits better.

You might have a leak in your horn...get it checked out.

The ligature needs to fit right and can cause problems if it does not. I would start there first. Take the mouthpiece in to any music store with an old reed or two and get a standard brass or better sized Rovner to fit.
You should be cool from there.
As far as which of the cool ligs? You need to try them out with your mouthpiece and a good reed or 2 and decide based on the sound you like. They do effect the sound a lot and can be pretty expensive so you want to play them.
I would advise you to get the cheap lig that fits and get used to the horn for a while before changing your mouthpiece/reed/ligature at much expense. After you find the center of a new sax and feel comfotable playing it, these changes will dictate themselves.
As for the neck issue; if you don't have a problem you don't have a problem. It was a few guys on the 82Z from what I heard. If it aint broke, don't fix it. I played the old G1 neck on the 82Z with no pitch problems at all so I don't even understand what the problem was. wouldn't worry about it...

I took the horn in to a tech that is highly trusted in Toronto. He looked at it and said there are a couple of small leaks and the bell is out. It has just travelled on a couple of planes and they would not let me carry it on so I had to check it. So once I get it back on Saturday I'll take the advice given. Thanks for the help!
