How much do you think that i could get my flute for if i brought it to a music store. it is a Gemeinhardt 2sp with serial number j 92445

Selling it outright is risky. Dealers pay less than half of retail for new flutes. I take them in trade (assuming no dents and decent pads and plating) for about $100. If someone wants to sell it to me outright, probably $35. School is starting and local ads or craigslist is the best bet.

Contact the local school band directors and let them know that you have a flute for sale. Give them your contact information and let them know that any interested PARENTS can contact you.

This might get you more for it than what a local music store will pay and put money in your pocket quicker than online selling.
