I am looking for a place around wheeling, IL\Chicago, IL\ or if possible Milwaukee, WI that sells the higher end yanagisawa altos like A9930,A9933,A9935, or A9937. The music shop around me doesn't carry any and i am looking to to upgraded from the saxophone that i have now.
I would buy off of the internet but i would want to try it our before I i buy it. If you have any idea of a place around the three area post a reply.

You may have trouble finding a brick and mortar shop that actually stocks one of those horns. My local dealer friend had a A9937 (I think that was the one) and he had the toughest time selling it. He said that the buyer loves it, but he didn't think he'd ever find the one guy who wanted it.
There are internet shops that have liberal return policies.
Good luck.

Ok, last time I checked (which was a while back) Cascio music (in New Berlin, WI a suburb of Milwaukee) had an A9930. I played it when I was in the market for an alto. (It was a nice horn, but needed to be setup real bad) I would hazard to guess it's still there, but I would call them to double check. (They don't move too many of those, it's been there since at least 2000 I think) You're probably not going to get a very good price though, I asked about it and if I remember correctly it was in the >$4000 range, much too rich for my blood.
