What can I do when my mouthpiece is too big or too small for my saxophone cork?
I am thinking about buying a mouthpiece but what if it isn't a perfect fit?
I need to have the ability to push it in or pull it out to adjust my tone.

If it is too losse, you can temporarily use PTFE tape round the cork. If the cork is a bit compressed you can use the steam from a kettle to swell it up a bit (but mask off the neck first as steam could remove lacquer)
If the mouthpiece is too tight, first make sure it doesn't just need a bit more cork grease. failing that, use some sandpaper to reduce the diameter, use cork grease again before trying the mouthpiece. Be carful not to sand the lacquer off the neck!
