Jazz Camp

I'm gning to the UOP jazz camp in California this summer, and I was wondering if my good saxophone could get stolen. I have a crappy student model sax I could bring, but I was going to bring my proffessional one. Has anyone gotten anything stolen at a camp before? Thanks.

Can't speak for UOP, Keilwerth_Guy, but I've been to summer workshops before and here's my philosophy.

If you're there to play as well as you can, bring the best equipment you can.
Insure your instrument and then don't worry about it.

I'm going to UOP this summer too! I went last summer also. but back to your question...last year it was the first annual jazz camp they had held (this year the second of course) and i never heard of anything like that happening at all, actually i lost my new cell phone there and the campus police found it and sent it back, which was pretty cool. but when i went many people brought their best saxophones and nothing happened to them, that i know of and the camp is pretty small compared to a lot of them, and your almost never with out your axe, and if you are its locked away in your dorm room, so you shouldn't have any problem wiht it, but if your worried im sure they wont have a prob with u taking it everywhere. and drop me an email and ill ive you more info about the camp if you want, c ya there ramZ
