I'm picking sax back up, and I'm trying to add the tenor to my repertoire. So I bought what I thought would be an old Buescher Aristocrat on Ebay.

Well, it arrive at my folks' house back in Tennessee yesterday, and, well, it's not an Aristocrat. It's a silver LeBlanc of some unknown origin. The serial number is 644 (yes, that's the WHOLE serial number).

My best 'net research suggest that it might be a Rationale model, but I can't find out any more info, and I was hoping some of the vintage gurus around here might be able to help out. Dad sent some pics, but they're not very helpful for ID (all you can tell is that it's a gorgeous but tarnished old horn). If some more detailed pics will help I can have him take a few.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Probably a LeBlanc Systen. Those have a rare and unique key mechanism, I used to own an alto. Tenors are rarer, especially in silver. Only 1500 were produced in total

If the F#3 is located between the palm keys and the left pinky cluster, you have a system horn. Please do post some pictures.

Thanks for the help, all. Unfortunately, my worst suspicions were confirmed: the dealer had sold the horn to someone else and shipped the wrong horns to the wrong places. Darn me for my honesty. :(

If you want a horn to play, your honesty may be rewarded. FWIW, I own both and spend a lot more time with the Buescher than the Leblanc.
