No, not mouthpiece for a metal clarinet but actually a mouth piece where the top half is metal........anyone familiar with these pieces seen on eBAY from time to time? Are they legit? Would they work well for a sax doubler who plays metal sax pieces?

The one I have ('20s Selmer) isn't bad - and it looks pretty good on my metal Selmer clarinet - but I still prefer a Grabner for just about anything.

I have worked on a number of these for a client. The facings are bad and the chamber shape varies a little from piece to piece. My client likes them opened way up. He's tried from .068" to .084". When you go real wide in tip opening, I do not think it matters much what you use for a blank.
Here are a couple of clips the client sent me you might get a kick out of. One is a kinda of a Latin, hip-hop street music:

This one is a more folksy street music:

WOW, is all I can say. I got one yesterday, and I have to admit I was a little blown away. It's that good. What's amazing is that it is metal all the way through with more traditional plastic on the lower half around the metal inside. The piece is very open, perhaps the most open clarinet mouthpiece I have ever tried. Notes above high G are effortless. Intonation is passable, and the metal allows for humoring in a way I'm not used to w/ clarinet pieces.
You sax players playing metal pieces and doubling on clarinet may want to give 'em a try.
