View Full Version : Thank you Junkdude
I recently received an Hiscox Lite Alto case from David Hoskins of Junkdude Antiques. The case is all that is advertised, it's lite weight, solid and my Conn 6M VIII fit like a glove.
David went beyond the call and actually sent a second case after the first had been in the mail for a month. Both came it within one day of each other. I'll send one back to David.
I give my highest recommendation to Junkdude for the very excellent customer support. They recognize excellent service is paramount to Customer satisfaction.
Thanks Dave.

I'll second that. I just got my Hiscox pro tenor case, it fits my 10M like a glove. Dave has super fast service, and seems to be a nice guy to boot.
This Hiscox case is incredibly light, yet built like a tank. Kudos to Junkdude and Hiscox.
Hey guys - - can one carry the Hiscox comfortably over the shoulder with a strap, and how weather-tight would you say it is where the two halves seal together? Thanks. Gary
The Hiscox isn't quite as comfortable on the shoulder as other cases, but after the first few minutes, it's not even noticable.
Never really gave the weather-tight issue a thought... is it constantly raining in Europe? I just got a BAM soprano case, and was a little freaked out by the built-in "raincoat" thing...
Gary: the Hiscox is about as weather-proof as it gets. I live in Georgia (USA), and a couple of weeks ago we got some torrential downpours due to the tornados that were moving through the Midwest and parts of the South. I'd been shedding in the practice room I sometimes use, which is a 20-minute walk from my home, and got ambushed by one of those rather heavy rains. Since none of my peeps was at home when I called, I was forced to run home. I made it in 15 mins. and was positively soaked. Naturally, I was paranoid about my 10M I'd just gotten, so I took a booklet of cigarette papers to assess the damage. Well, I only had to use one of them: I traced it along the inside of both the body and the lid where the lining meets the shell -- and not a trace of moisture!
I'd still recommend using a cover of sorts -- if for no other reason than to avoid a serious attack of paranoia as I suffered... But I find the Hiscox to be everything that the glowing reviews here claim it to be.

P.S. Another poster a while ago reported serious warping of the shell when the Hiscox is exposed to heat and humidity -- I've had mine two years and haven't had anything happen to mine. And I lives in Jawja...
Hey, thanks, folks. I've been using Berkeley's, which are as weather-tight as possible and easy to carry, as well, but, since I fly periodically, I've been interested in trying out a Hiscox. Unfortunately, where I live I just can't do a side-by-side comparison of the two.

Would one of you folks who has the Hiscox Liteflight Tenor case please measure the length, width, and thickness- the outside dimensions of the case, (in inches if possible) and report them here?
Thanks in advance

34.5 x 13 x 7.5 inches-if anyone is interested-some of the airlines measure total l xw x ht to determine carry-on. The Hiscox is a bit over the standard but should be allowed by most.

He got a case for it, but it cost him his wardrobe. (Except his beret!)
