Just saw on Woodwind Brasswind that they have a vintage Bundy bari for sale (for anyone browsing old posts in months to come, it's currently 4/12/04): http://www.wwbw.com/Used-Bundy-Vintage-Baritone-Saxophone-i106299.music

My question is, any idea where they got the year 1918?
From saxpics.com I didn't find any serial # guides, but as WWBW described it as German made, I'm assuming that it's the Keilwerth stencil, as pics describes it as "They're marked, "Made in Germany" ", except that they have dates as "In the 1950's Selmer had Keilwerth"
(the Bundy site from saxpics is directly http://www.saxpics.com/selmer/bundy.htm)

So, can anyone satisfy my curiosity  . Anyone have more info than saxpics, or is WWBW wrong in their date and/or German origin?

If you know the serial no you could try entering it at http://www.musicgroup.com/Instruments/Service/FrameSerialnumbers.htm, Keilwerth's current owner's serial no search service.
Good luck.

As best I know, nickel plated keys didn't come into use until the 1950s. I've never seen a pre-'50s sax with nickel keys so I doubt very much that this horn was made in 1918.

The serial number from the WWBW site gives a date of 1961 on the Keilwerth serial number search.
