A Weltklang. Cool! I have one. In fact I posted here some time ago about it. I didnt get as good a deal as you, but I got mine cheap. I had a hard time finding anything out about it. I know that Keilwerth made their Bari stencils, but none of the others, but there may be some connection with the old Amati horns out of Czechoslovakia. I saw some pictures of an Amati and the keywork was a dead on match!
Mine is a nickel silver horn and plays really great considering the price. I have had conversations with some like Bear at Cyber Sax and some others who gave the opinion that Weltklang tenors are pretty much an intermediate horn.
BTW, mine has a working forked Eb, a G# trill key like the old American horns and some other rather unusual features that make it cool to play. I have gigged with mine and it really sounds good for the money I paid. I would NEVER compare it to the new and vintage pro horns, but mine really does what I need. When I get a pro horn, my Weltklang will become my backup tenor.

In addition to my previous comments, the intonation is surprisingly great for such an inexpensive horn. I also think that "Weltklang" is German for "World Sound"
I sure would like to see pictures of your horn. For what you paid for it, even if it needs a total rework and setup it wouldn't hurt you.

Weltklang was manufactured in the old east german republic GDR.

True, "Weltklang" means "WorldSound" and the factory is lacated in Markneukirchen, Germany. Markneukirchen is located in the former German Demokratic Republic (East-Germany) next to german-tschechian border. On the other border side you find Amati (who make some of the J.Keilwerth Student ST-90 saxes) in craslize.
After the german re-union "Weltklang" changed it's branding and is now known as B&S. The new B&S pro-series horns are really good. The old "Weltklang" horns have mostly mechanism (forked Eb, G#-trill) like the old american horns. There quality is very unsteadily as raw materials were sometimes hard to get in the socialist state. So you may get a very good horn or are very bad one. I own a weltklang "soloist" baritone which plays very well. And I also owened several weltklang tenors. For pictures of my actual and previously instruments see "http://www.dirk-thomsen.de/Instrumente/".

Kind regards from Berlin, Germany,
Dirk
