So i have a 1993 L.A. Sax Tenor that is basically brand new. I am not sure on the model number and really dont have that much info on it. I know they arent very popular but judging from the pictures what do you think i could get for it? Ive honestly never even played the thing and it sits and collects dust. Sorry for the lack of information on it. It is a good looking horn and at least it isnt one of the colored ones that i know they make.

Sad to say, no more than $600. Realisticaly, probably closer to $450 :( . You get major Kudos if you get more than $600 for it!

Hard to tell from the photos, but even their top-of-the-line 850 tenor sold for about $895 brand new, or demo only new. I agree with Nissan, that if you get more than around $450 - $600 you're doing good.
I don't know why LA Sax tenors are characterized as unpopular because they are excellent playing horns and well-built. I've owned two of them and a couple of LA Sax altos and at least one LA Sax soprano. I think they are undervalued, but there are a lot of Taiwanese-made horns in that category.

I have to agree with Rob. The LA-750 alto I got from him is a fine horn. My Mark VI stays home on most of my alto gigs, partly for protection, but also because I enjoy playing the 750. It is quite a bit heavier than most altos.

That is a nice looking horn. Why did they get such a bad reputation? Was it just the silly color schemes that ruined the image ? About 3 yrs ago I was looking for a new sax and went to a major music store. They had L.A. Saxes. When I asked abut them the salesman said "Oh no, you don't want one of those things".
