Bobby Watson came to my school

Bobby Watson came to Ball State. He is very very good, and is a super nice guy. Real down to earth.
He pretty much mesmerized me. Any thoughts/experiences with Bobby?

I used to see playing him with Art Blakey, way back in the '70s. A fantastic player!

There is a dive bar near the Conservatory in KC where Bobby is on the faculty. His kids used to run a jazz jam there on Thursday afternoons, I haven't checked in a while to see if it is going still. Anyway, I showed up early to set up for a gig there and got a chance to listen to his students (killer players) and talk to him some. Really down to earth, super nice man.

I spoke with him for a few minutes when he played Nighttown here in Cleveland. As mentioned, a very nice guy and a great player.
