I've been looking for a good soprano saxophone for a while now...I'm a pretty dedicated player, but I've already shucked out all of my money for a Series III alto. I was looking around for a cheap but good soprano that I could double on, when I came across WWBW's double neck soprano sax...for only $400. The most surprising thing was that people actually liked this thing, judging by their reviews.

This leaves me with two questions to you all:
1) What is WWBW's reputation? I don't do much of my music-related shopping online.
2) Has anyone had any experiences with said soprano sax? It seems way too good to be true...a reputedly good instrument (again, judging by reviews) at a mere $400? I don't believe it.

CT: WW&BW is a reputable discounter; I've purchased horns and accessories from them at what I think were great prices and had no problems with their delivery.

Having said that, I bought one of their housebrand curved sops a while back and was happy to trade it off. The horn was Taiwanese - and had a nice tone. But the scale was so bad that I could not play it in an ensemble.

In MY opinion, buying a cheap soprano is just ensuring that you will eventually end up with TWO sopranos if you want to play soprano . . . the original cheapie AND the pro-line or vintage soprano for serious business. In the end you will have spent quite a bit of money over what you would have spent had you bought a top-flight soprano the first time. DAVE
