Hi all you wonderful sax players out there. I'm one of you i guess i'm glad to have finally found a place where i can get advice on the sax.
so i'm just a normal sax player (student) trying my hardest to become good at it (would be the only thing) . I'm from Mississppi and have been playing four years come this may. and quite frankly love it (it's the best instrument) and hope to keep playing when i'm out of high school. well thats all i have to say i guessl

My former instructor is living in Meridian, playing with a Gospel church last I heard. If anyone happens to run into Julian Sparacino, tell him Bill Mecca said hi, and ask him about the Stanhope House.;-)

I'm located on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi having relocated from Dallas,Tx to play with a casino showband. Now unfortunatly due to economy I am having to do something else to support my habit of music. Have met several good players and yes indeed the Southern folk are very pleasant and nice. Also just an hour away from New Orleans and there are lots of good sax players there.

MarkVI,
I did some of the casino thing in Biloxi from time to time when I was in college. Its can be a strange gig, but most of the time its laid back.
Played at Treasure Bay and the Grand from time to time as groups passed through. Always as a side man -- I never played with a circuit band.

Hey, another Petal, MS tie here. I used to go to Petal-Harvey Baprist Church when I was in colege at the University of Southerm Mississippi. I now live in Louisville,KY. I am a singer in a Southern Gospel quartet and a sax player at church.
I don't play nearly as much as I used to, but I still love it. I'm usually on the road on the weekend singing. We have a tour bus and all the good stuff but I'd still like to find a way to work some saxophone in there!
