That's cool! I think I got 3 questions right! Most of the other wrong ones was mis-information passed down over the years from various teachers!

4/15 Well...considering that most of this stuff happened 100+ years before I was born, that ain't bad. There are some cool historical facts in the answer sheet.

BTW, is it still possible to get recordings from this time period? Did anyone preserve these early Edison cylinder recordings? I'm fairly good with mechanical/manufacturing information of this time period, but I haven't a clue when it comes to the actual music.

The answer sheet said most of it has been lost. Now, lost doesn't mean destroyed, so maybe they are floating around somewhere. Who knows. Would be cool if someone found them and re-mastered them!

I got half of them right. Of course, if I took the test again, I still might get only half right - just a different half that time. :D

That would be something to have. Unfortunatly, I do not think that the Edison cylinder was especially durable. I've always been curious to hear what the first great saxophonists sounded like. Of course, the primative recordings probably wouldn't be a fair representation anyway.
