Interesting Bb clarinet made by Buffet for Holton in the 1930s. Has some extra keys ("modified full Boehm" system).

Somewhere in this forum, I pointed out the Holton C-D trill key and the G#trill key were "borrowed" from a circa 1910 Evette-Schaeffer saxophone, which I believe was a division of Buffet. I also recall the odd little low C speaker key has been seen on some European horns. I would be curious who originated thae speaker key, as I feel it adds extra sonority to the notes below F. The only problem I have encountered with it is on the Wiedoeft tenor, where the low D was very sharp until I lowered the low C and speaker key about 1/4 inch.

I don't know who originated those keys, but this item shows us that Holton was talking to Buffet at the time. So an exchange of ideas is quite possible.

I have an antique rosewood buffet in my dining room. The inside of of the drawers smells like an antique Holton case. Maybe another connection....

I usually have two or three cereals stoered inside it, so it's 2 or 3.
