I have played a Kohlert Regent for about 5 years now. I purchased it from the daughter of the original owner when she stopped by the music store I was then working in looking to sell it. I had it completely torn down and chem dipped and then repadded, felts and corks. It plays like a beaut!

I'm hoping that maybe we can get together some type of a serial number list. I saw a partial one, and I'd like to add mine to help out.

Regent, 623XX best guess is that it was purchased late 50's early 60's.

I saw that list but what I thought was odd was that my Regent is in the 62XXX range but the only Regent listed on your list is in the 29000 range... by serial number (and I know that you stated that it seems they had multiple models going at once) I should be in the Model 58 area...

And here's an oddity. There is a Kohlert bari (looks like a very late model from the horrible pics) posted on eBay at the moment... I requested the serial number and the seller reports that it is B101XX ... yes, that's a "B"

The bell work and the logo are obviously very late model anyone wanna chime in on that "B"?

I saw that Bari - I do not believe it to be a vintage German-made Kohlert at all. The low A is kind of a give-away. Relatively few vintage Low A's were sold (now you have to special order anything but). I believe it to be one of those new saxes (made somewhere in Asia) which use the Kohlert name.

I enjoyed listening to your band at the ShrunkenHeads site - and to your Kohlert. I'll definitely stop in and see you guys if I pass through when you have a gig.
